Mairbel Mendes Sobreira (Maracay, 1981. Vive e trabalha em Lisboa)

É ensaísta, professora, investigadora e curadora expandida. Mestre em Filosofia pela FLUL e doutoranda em Filosofia na mesma faculdade, licenciou-se em arquitetura por acidente. O âmbito da sua investigação centra-se no conceito de espaço tanto ontológico como social, e as dinâmicas deste na constituição da subjectividade. Desenvolve pensamento crítico interseccional, através de vários ensaios e textos, projectos de activismo curatorial, tal como participação em conferência, aula abertas, palestras, laboratórios de leitura e discussão sobre cultura visual, queer, feminismo e anti racismo. É co-fundadora do ColectivoFACA um projeto de curadoria e cidadania ativa que questiona as narrativas da cultura visual, não apagando a História, cruzando as diversas narrativas. Colabora com o MAAT e Museu de Arte Contemporânea – MAC/CCB e é investigadora em formação do Centro de Filosofia da Universidade de Lisboa (CFUL)

Is an essayist, teacher, researcher and expanded curator. She holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy from FLUL and is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the same faculty, graduated in architecture by accident. The scope of her research focuses on the concept of space, both ontological and social, and its dynamics in the constitution of subjectivity. She develops intersectional critical thinking through various essays and texts, curatorial activism projects, as well as participation in conferences, open classes, lectures, reading labs and discussions on visual culture, queer culture, feminism and anti-racism. She is the co-founder of ColectivoFACA a curatorial and active citizenship project that questions the narratives of visual culture, not erasing history, crossing the various narratives. Works with MAAT and MAC/CCB and is researcher in training at the Philosophy Centre of the University of Lisbon (CFUL).
